The Procession of the Shepherds

The so-called "Procession of the Shepherds " has always left from the Cathedral in the earliest hours of the morning, in order to tour the city (the two quarters of Sassi).

The first two drums and two violins appeared in the 18th century as they accompanied the Image of the Holy Mother through the parishes and the main churches of the Caveoso and of the Barisano sections of the city. Breakfast was offered to the participants and the musicians once the procession returned to the Duomo .
